The cowl is done! I actually finished it a few weeks ago and it just took me awhile to stitch it together and get it photographed. {Thank you Emily for the awesome idea of making it an infinity cowl!} Goofy selfies just for you. I don't really love taking photos of myself. Am I supposed to smile? Look serious? I really don't know what to do….. Anyhow, it turned out lovely. Beautiful squishy deliciously soft yarn. Perfect to wear around the house & tucked into my jacket, especially because we just got another four inches of snow and it looks like winter is doing her best to hold on as long as she can. I'll take snow over sleet anyday though. Joe & I spent hours shoveling the gigantic driveway, clearing the slush last weekend. We actually built a trough to get the water off the driveway to avoid having our own ice skating rink. It was one heck of a workout for sure.
Speaking of Joe….. he suprised me with a swift & ball winder for Christmas. I was so excited. Truthfully I think everyone in the house was so excited. No more helping mama to wind balls of yarn. I love being able to make these perfect little center pull cones. I swoon over the whole process…. my little guy does too. He's always first in line to operate the ball winder……
Isn't that orange the best ever? I adore it. It's Spice by Luna Grey Fiber Arts in her bulky weight. It's totally perfect for this sweater which is getting so close to being done!! (Ravelry details on the cowl & sweater.) What are you knitting these days? Leave me a link so I can come visit and see….

Burnt orange is a favorite color of mine. That sweater is going to be awesome! Can’t wait to see it finished.

Beautiful cowl and selfie!
I received a swift and ball winder for Christmas a few years ago and it has made life so much easier. My guy’s like to turn the swift and so does my g-daughter Emerson; it’s a great way to keep a five year old entertained.

I haven’t got photos but I’m currently working on a trail blanket for my boy. It’s at least a year in the making and I’m finally in the home stretch which is very exciting. I’m also making myself a lacy blanket and a set of boxes which I will felt. No photos of those either I’m afraid. I’m crocheting all these btw, I have yet to learn how to knit….I really love how crocheting feels a little like sculpting. I just do it freeform, I’m not much of a pattern follower.

Oh I adore that cowl! And it is so nice to see your face. Selfie’s are weird aren’t they. I figure as long as you aren’t blinking or showing the full few of your nostrils it’s all good.

Yes! Weird! That was the word I was looking for. They go against every introvert thread in my make-up. Of course….. I also want you all to know I’m a real person every now and then. With unwashed hair pulled into a bun, sweatshirt, and crows feet π

This one is especially quick & easy to knit! Visiting you to check out the baby surprise jacket….. I so wished I’d have learned to knit when I had babies! Aw, well….. someday there will be grandchildren. A long, long way from now….. but someday…..
