  1. Providence is WONDERFUL – large enough to get what you want culturally, yet small enough to enjoy without being overwhelmed. The Fire Water exhibits down at the river in the summer are SPECTACULAR – splurge and get New York System Hot Dogs – a RI specialty – only once in awhile or else your tummy will complain! The Rhode Island School of Design museum is incredible and small and classes are great! Roger Willams Park has a zoo (small but so well kept and loved by all), a swan boat experience, a real carousal in the park, places to picnic, places to ride bikes and skateboard – the Ferry over to Block Island is an experience in itself (if you take the Norma Jean or older ferries and stand in the bow with the wind and spray flying up at you) – and the island itself is made for families – the clean beaches go on FOREVER – and there is a small animal farm that you can walk to from Old Harbor where the boat comes in. Don’t miss the Ice Cream Parlor tucked behind the toy shop on Water Street (almost across from the ferry landing) and have lunch at Finns, the seafood is wonderful (expecially the old fashioned fish and chips and there is a children’s menu)…. I could go on forever but you get the idea. My cousin Mike is a State Rep for the Foster area and if you want help I may get him to help you.
Let us know where you finally will land – oh yes, don’t miss the 4th of July parade in Bristol (an historic town).

  2. Thank you for all the wonderful places to see & things to do. We are so very excited. We're not "in" the city….. but a quick 15-20 minutes away….. which is really perfect for us. I've been jumping up and down at random moments since yesterday when the paperwork was signed. Six weeks until we have keys!!

  3. I can't wait to show it to you all once we get there. It is going to be a very, very long six weeks until we close on the house. Thank goodness we're doing some traveling and visiting with family in the meantime, hopefully all that fun will make the time pass quickly 🙂
