the little girl and the daddy are learning a new song on the guitar

there was painting, of course…. but you all ready knew that

that calendar mades me smile each time I walk through the kitchen….. make plans, indeed

i started the weekend with a big batch of quinoa chili and some black eyed peas that later became soup, i have to remember this is a good idea…. even when we aren't busy with house projects. nourishing easy food to end a hard days work is so very good….

air compressor outside, out of the living room…. moving along the to-do list

the kitchen cabinets are finally finished…. joe & i put them back on tonight while we made dinner

i tossed the last foam brush in the garbage, saturated with dark walnut stain…

birthday cheesecake with fresh blueberries…. such a treat

it was a good three day weekend…..

how did you spend yours?

  1. Either that calendar is ridiculously popular, or all the blogs I read are written by women who have the same taste I do. I love mine, too. 🙂
The cabinet doors look spectacular! xo

  2. There is just something about Nicci! I've loved her artwork forever. It started with the book All in a Day. This is the first year I've bought a calendar. I always use my calendar to write on, so it was not a practical purchase. But certainly an artful one. Somehow this weekend I was struck with those words…. make plans. It's exactly what we're doing right now…..

  3. Downtown Abbey seems to be quite the popular show! I keep hearing people talk about it. We've been watching a British series with Jade. Merlin. We love it. Snow sounds dreamy 🙂

  4. Wow, I am always amazed by how efficient you are. I think I test drove a car and that might be all I did. I didn’t even take my kids to their gymnastics class, because I plum forgot. Hanging out with the family is pretty important, so I’ll count that. And that cheesecake is inspiring. Yum.

  5. Time with family is definitely well spent. My poor kids are getting pretty tired of mama & daddy working all day and into the evening. I think a family game night is in order for this weekend. And popcorn for an easy dinner 🙂

  7. I checked out the Merlin series from the library, and watched it with Ted. We liked it. Do you have Amazon Prime? You can watch the first 2 seasons of Downton Abbey for free…. I can ‘invite you’ as a family member I think… will try that now.
