chicot ~ a dozen favorites

I think I found my favorite place in Louisiana. Chicot State Park is absolutely beautiful. I'm really at a loss of words when trying to explain it all to you… (suprising for me, I know!) So I just thought I'd let these photos do all the talking. A few days peace in nature is good for the soul. So much time to think. I found myself cabin bound for two whole days taking care of a sick little one…. and I couldn't think of a better place for the two of us to be…. (though later were both grateful to make it outside for a bit of exploring!)

The youngest girl found a kitten. There were walks in the woods on lovely trails and paddles in the lake. Fairy houses built and campfire food. Deer, rabbit & raccoon spotted. A lot of unsuccessful, but fun fishing. Fall all around this girl who has missed it these past few years. Yes, me!

It was perfection. We are so grateful for that sweet bit of retreat….

  1. Beautiful photos. If I had to pick a favorite I couldn’t. That is one heck of a fancy cabin. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Okay, I have to ask how the cat fits into all of this… It lives at the cabin? You travel with your cat? Just curious! Beautiful pictures as well 🙂

  3. Wowzers, the “cabin” is quite a place!! I think you’ve just directed me towards our next camping direction (or at least one close to the top of the list).
Glad you found a taste a fall too! 🙂

  4. It was amazing Nichole! It's worth saving money for the cabin too…. being on the water and IN the swamp was incredible. The birds were so beautiful and the water… awesome. If you split it with another small family you would still have plenty of room…. perhaps a jazz musician, his wife, and three little girls I know 😉
