a few favorites + something for you

It's official.

I have unpacked the last of 9 pieces of luggage. Yes, nine. We came home with 4 extra pieces. Some beautiful frozen & canned red salmon from my dad, lots of goodies from my mama, and maybe just a few skeins of yarn. Ahem~

We're slowly settling into home. This means adjusting to going to bed when it's dark, eating dinner before 8 pm… and the heat (!!). Vacation schedules are just so much more fun. Joe put the swimming pool up for the kids yesterday, which is a lifesaver for the two youngest who have spent the last few weeks running off their youthful energy in the deep mossy woods. I'm already missing the sea and cool air and foggy mornings.

I have a few last bits of favorite outside photos to share with you. Some that never quite made it into a blog post while we there…… but ones I really love.

Also, I have something for you. I spent the summer collecting some of my very favorite pieces of Alaska. Bits from creative souls and artists that I adore in that quaint little fishing hamlet. It's a bit of a Cordova art gathering.

A set of post cards painted & photographed by Erin Cooper.

A beautiful skein of yarn hand dyed by Shelly Kocan of Snow Capped Yarns, inspired by Erin's Dowitcher print.

An exquisite hand made pair of earrings by Michelle Dockins. (whom is truly my kindred spirit!)

Dark chocolate & sea salt covered cashews. (these are seriously awesome!)

Most of these pieces were picked up at The Net Loft. The owner, Dotty, amazes me with her ability to pull together so many creative bits and pieces into this magical space. She is my real life Lupine Lady. "She's visited far off places, found home by the sea, and made the world more beautiful….."

Thank you to all of you for spending the summer with me. I'm always humbled to have you beside me on this journey. I would love to send this package of goodies off to one of you. Leave a comment on this post to enter. I will draw a very lucky winner on Wednesday.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

with love & gratitude~

  8. Such a unique, lovely giveaway, reflective of what has seemed like a restful, transformative getaway for you! Each item captures the colour and atmosphere of the time you spent away, at least as I can gather from the photos you’ve shared over the summer. Thanks for your generosity!

  9. Your summer holiday blog posts were what I went to when the heat in my neck of the woods was too much – which was and still is often. I was attempting to channel the cool and the muted.
    All those treats look wonderful.
    Thanks for this.

  10. I just started following your blog as you went on vacation and now I want a house up in Alaska on the sea. I have such an affinity for coastal towns, yet regrettably live in the middle of ontaio. Brig side is we have LOTS of lakes.

  11. All of these treasures to one person? What a beautiful and generous gift! Love your photos of Alaska. Reminds me of my own sweet home, Seattle (sans the bears ;-). I often fantasize about life up there, but fear I couldn’t survive mosquito season :-). Thanks for the lovely giveaway!
