We made it.
Just as soon as they could, the kids dispersed into the woods or down to to sea.
Walking, running & laughing.
Finding treasures and yes, even bits of old snow.
I am feeling so grateful for the weeks ahead of us… for that view from my deck in that last picture. Every time I come back here a familiar feeling of home washes over me.
This morning I sipped my coffee and watched the sun came up over that mountain. The clouds slowly turning golden as it did. I watched the fishing boats leave the harbor and knew there must be an opener today.
Misty sunshine & good coffee. It's all just so good.
Raelee’s eyes got HUGE when she saw Soph in the picture. Man oh man are you going to be using those rubber boots huh? LOL Have a fantastic trip!!

7 weeks in Alaska! Yeah, girl!
We’ll be in Anchorage in mid July visiting Dan’s brother, can’t wait (just as soon as I find someone to babysit the chickens, garden, house, etc…)

Amazingly beautiful, especially that last photo. S is going to be so grown when she gets back!
Read a quote the other day that made me think of you:
“You don’t travel to see different things,
You travel to see things differently.”
Have a wonderful time.

I know just what you mean. I’m always falling in love with those mountains as if it were the first time. The heavy clouds that cover the tips most days and the cool air. Beautiful.

Haha! A homestead caretaker 🙂 We are feeling so grateful that my parent’s apartment opened up this summer so we could stay so long. It is amazing to be here. Beyond words. And I wish it were more accessible to meet up for coffee in Anchorage. That would be fantastic!

I just spent some time exploring your blog over a cup of tea.
I’m glad to have “met” you.
I’ve been reading your book and I have *so* enjoyed the writing prompts within those pages. It was perfect timing for me to find it over on in Rachel’s space.
Looking forward to more…

Thank you Valarie! We are so glad to be here and very much enjoying being out of doors. On another note, Joe & I are dreaming of a visit to the Smoky Mountains before we leave the south. It’s a place we’ve always wanted to see. Hopefully within the next year!
