With all of these (and these) thoughts sitting in our hearts, we went back to New England.

Back to the place where Joe grew up and where our own little family began in many ways.

Back to the old rolling hills and beautiful rivers and streams.

After years of this gypsy life of ours, I am reminded that this place lives in my heart and calls itself home. (Matched only by the rocky beaches in coastal Alaska.)

We show up and wander the familiar forests. Inspecting rocks, leaves and flowers.

Laughing, singing, running, climbing, jumping, exploring.

The warm feeling seeps into our souls and we end up smiling for days. Dreams are fueled. Spirits renewed. Treasures carried home to remind us of these woods we know…..

(today is you last day to enter this giveaway, I'll close comments tonight & announce a winner tomorrow morning. good luck!)

  1. The last image really calls to me for some reason. I guess it’s the simplicity and repetition of shapes. The smoothness fills me with such calm. It feels like a metaphor for life and who diverse it is even though it’s made of the same stuff.

  2. Beautiful Post, thank you! New England IS gorgeous. (But of course I’d say north of the border is even better…) In the north the seasons and their rhythms run within, it makes it so difficult to live anywhere else and feel complete. This I too know to be true! I hope your dream becomes reality!
