No, I am not talking house renovations here….. though deconstruction would certainly be a fitting word!
I am talking quilts. About a year ago I tried to put together a patchwork style quilt in a sew-as-you-go sort of way. I had some fluffy batting lying around….. and used it. I wasn't happy with the results. I spent about an hour machine quilting before realizing this. The batting seemed to fluffy, the quilt top pattern too random. So I grumbled at it and promptly stuffed it into the closet.
Fast forward one year…….. I pulled the quilt out…… looked at it and remembered how much I loved all those prints….. and then I cut it up. Well, not all of it, but I cut a great big rectangular shape out of one corner…..
"What have you done?" asked Miss 11.
"Why did you do that?" asked Miss 7.
Even the dog thinks I'm crazy. See??
I'll be back to share the results of this π I have big plans for this rectangle of fabric.
For now though, as you may have noticed above, Miss 7, yes SEVEN, is having a birthday today. So I'd better get off of here and get started on an ice cream cake. That was her request this year. Oh yes, and sushi too! It'll be a day full of celebrating around here……. see you tomorrow!
Happy Birthday to my sweet & sassy Libra Girl π
