Some friends of ours who we haven't seen in years just had their first baby a few months ago. And since Joe will get to see them while he is at training in Virginia…… he asked if I would knit up a hat for him to take to the new sweet babe as a gift.
Why, OF COURSE I will!!
Virginia has fairly mild winters….. so I decided to try knitting with cotton. I chose some Cotton Fleece by Brown Sheep Company that I purchased at the Net Loft. It's 80% cotton and 20% wool. Washable and knits up very nicely. They have a huge range of luscious colors available.
So this sweet little raspberry hat was born. Knit up for little Miss Lily. I designed the pattern myself too, which means after I get the next one knitted up following my own directions, I will then be able to share the pattern with all of you here and on ravelry too! Hopefully in baby and child sizes….. yes it's simple, but it's my own š
stem & decrease pattern……

I’ve been knitting for 7 months š My friend Deb Dwyer taught me back in Feb when the kids put on a homeschool play….. we knitted while the kids rehearsed! Those were some fun nights š
